KATHMANDU: Health Insurance Board has temporarily waived co-payments and service caps in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading districts to ensure uninterrupted healthcare services for residents.

The board made the decision on September 7 after the government declared the three districts disaster crisis areas for three months. The declaration followed an unexpected flood in the Lhende Stream in Rasuwa on August 26.

Health institutions providing services in the three districts will waive co-payments and service caps during the specified period.

Residents of the affected areas who do not have health insurance identity cards will also receive medical care. Health institutions will verify their insurance numbers through the IMIS-User system.
